Important update on temporary supplier surcharges 27/05/26

This post explains the temporary surcharges that are beginning to impact selected products.

Across our industry, suppliers are increasing prices due to ongoing global pressures, particularly linked to instability in the Middle East. This is being seen across the engineering and industrial supply market.

What’s driving this? A few key things:

  • Higher energy and fuel costs
  • Increased freight and transport charges
  • Rising raw material prices
  • Continued strain on global supply chains

Because of this, suppliers have introduced temporary surcharges which we’re starting to see feed through to certain product categories.

What this means for you:

Where these supplier surcharges apply, you will see price increases on selected items. We’ll only apply changes where necessary and keep them as low and targeted as possible.
We’re working hard behind the scenes to reduce the impact by negotiating with suppliers, finding alternatives, and improving efficiency to absorb these costs where we can.

The good news is that these surcharges are temporary.

We’ll keep reviewing them regularly, and as soon as suppliers reduce or remove them, we’ll adjust those charges accordingly.

  • Ordering Online: The temporary surcharge will be highlighted on a product under the add to basket button and is built into the prices you see online. The net price will also be shown on your invoice.
  • Ordering over the Phone or Email: You will be advised of the temporary surcharge by Phone or Email, and the cost will be split out on your order acknowledgement and quotes to show the surcharge percentage.

If you’d like to understand how this might affect your account, or want help finding more cost-effective alternatives, our team are happy to help! We’ll continue to keep you updated as things change.
