By combining its helical tooth design with the aramid tension member and strong rubber, this belt benefits from a number of advantages. SILENTSYNC is self-tracking, has a high power capacity and withstands high temperatures. Advantage 1: CONTI® SILENTSYNC is up to 19dB quieter than a conventional synchronous belt. This represents a significant reduction in noise nuisance for people, particularly in robotics, an environment where high-speed drives and people operate in close proximity. Advantage 2: The CONTI® SILENTSYNC’s belt strength is up to 80% higher compared with conventional synchronous belts and up to 50% higher than raw-edge premium V-belts with the same belt width as a result of it's aramid tension member. This offers a major potential to reduce the width of V-belt systems and thus, system costs. Advantage 3: CONTI® SILENTSYNC operates with reduced vibration. The helical toothing almost eliminates the polygon effect, resulting in an outstanding efficiency of up to 98% and vibrations up to 20% lower. Properties: • Temperature range, depending on application from –40°C to +95°C • Very low-noise • Electrically conductive to ISO 9563 • Conditionally resistant to oil • Ozone-resistant • Aging-resistant • Maintenance free The teeth are molded from synthetic rubber and then made wear-resistant with a specially treated polyamide fabric. The material offers high strength and dimensional stability and therefore guarantees absolutely synchronous power transmission. Conditional resistance to oil, coolants, heat and ozone are also ensured due to the material used. The tension member consists of an aramid cord. It shows no ageing or appreciable elongation, meaning that typically no retensioning is needed. The belt backing made of the same rubber,though with a polyester fabric, is highly flexible,as a result of which the SILENTSYNC also has no problem with reverse flexing. The H.O.T. profile (Helical Offset Tooth) incorporates an STD profile with all its benefits and the added advantages of helical tooth design. self-tracking and lower noise are therefore the characteristic features of this tooth design. |
